The Portage
County Board of Elections is responsible for maintaining lists
of registered electors in Portage County. All voter registrations are processed through our office,
as well as, all applications for absentee ballots. Our office provides these services for the currently
registered 100,000 voters.
The Board of
Elections oversees all elections in the County. There are
524 poll workers appointed and trained to conduct elections in
131 precincts.

Qualifications
to be a registered elector are:
|
- You are a
citizen of the United States
- You are at
least 18 years old on the election day at which you seek to
vote
- You have
been a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days before the
election
- Provide Ohio Drivers License Number
|
|
|
|
You
may vote by absentee ballot if you:
|
- Fill out
application for Absentee
Voters Ballot .
Absentee Ballot Application
- Come to the Board Office and vote in
person or vote by mail about a month before any election.
- No reason is required to vote an
Absentee Voters Ballot; however you must provide all the
required information before a ballot can be issued.
- Are an overseas citizen or uniformed
services personnel by filing a
Federal Post
Card Application.
